A Sparrow Lesson

What a beautiful White-throated Sparrow. I love it.

Here is a great lesson from history. We learn a lot from history. This has something for people with crazy ideas on how to respond to 'climate change' and even our medical community. Bonus: It's about sparrows too.

In 1958 Mao Zedong ordered all the sparrows to be killed because they ate too much grain. This caused one of the worst environmental disasters in history.

Signs Of Spring

Last year on this very week in February we saw our 1st Red-winged Blackbird of the 2023 season. Well, today we saw our 1st Red-winged Blackbird of the 2024 season. I am so excited.

Before The Snow

I guess we will see more snow soon. Stay warm, and like this cardinal, try to enjoy nature.

Climbers

I was listening to this short podcast today and they were taking about the woodpecker and the nuthatch. They are unique climbers. The nuthatch has longer legs and climbs down to search for food. The woodpecker has shorter legs and his design works better when they climb up. I need to find more on that, but how cool.

Can’t Hide

Adjustments.jpeg

Some birds are just shy, others will do anything to hide from my camera. Then sometimes I just take the photo and hope I captured the beauty of nature. This one is on you, my red-bellied friend.
