We went to Grand Lake St Marys this week and saw a number of Great Blue Herons. This one let us get really close but clearly he was focused on lunch.

Tell me what you think: I think geese are beautiful. I love to watch them fly in perfect formation. They land on water in concert with nature. Serioulsy cool but boy are the loud and they leave a mess (💩) on the trails.

Once in a while I have trouble identifying a bird. This duck is one of those. I actully think it is a Ruddy Duck. We shaw a couple of them at St Marys this week but they were so far that the photo was not great. Cool duck regardless.

I watched this Great Blue Heron as it appeared to be landing near where we were hiking. I was surprised when she landed in this small tree. I guess this is the tree topper for next Christmas.

This is a male and female Redhead. They are diving ducks, but I caught them with their heads above water. I know a few redheads, but most of them are human. 😱
