It won't be long until the Red-winged Blackbirds start to migrate! They're always the first to leave, probably sometime in late August, but we'll see. I just love the beautiful colors they bring to the pastures.

I’m not entirely sure what’s happening here, but it looks like a very serious board meeting. The Great Blue Heron is clearly the CEO, standing tall and trying to maintain some semblance of order. Meanwhile, the Canada Geese are the unruly department heads, probably arguing about who gets the last of the breadcrumbs. I just hope they reach a consensus before the heron loses its patience!

This goldfinch seems to know just how beautiful he is. Perched gracefully on this branch, he looks truly majestic. What a stunning bird.

He sure is a face only a mother could love. I spotted a majestic bald eagle in this exact same spot a few days earlier, but naturally, it ghosted me before I could snap a photo. This guy, however, had absolutely no shame and posed for the camera like a supermodel.
