Two Geese And Fresh Snow

Two geese and fresh snow. I can do without the snow, but it sure is beautiful and peaceful.

City View

I took this photo recently on one a cold and snowy morning while I was headed to the gym. I pulled over, and shot this with my iPhone.

I love the detials. The snow, lights, icy roads ... it was just a cool scene and I wanted to try and capture it in a photo. Not my typical photograph, but I love it.

Deep snow

Teresa took this photo in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. So much snow ...

On March 19, my son sent me this weather advisory. ‘200 inches of snow in 18 days’ in the path of our trip. Yes,  I was concerned since our plan was to drive from Salt Lake City to the Yosemite Valley.

We were nervous, but the improving weather looked like we would be safe. Sure enough, the snow was there, but the weather was improved.

We still saw the leftover snow. I made a stop to take the following photo at about 8000 feet on Rt 88 south of Lake Tahoe. Needless to say, not too long ago, these roads were impassable.

That was some serious snow.

Snow enhanced ...

FullSizeRender.jpg

All of nature takes on a slightly different ‘look’ right after a snowfall. It’s like magic. As much as I dislike snow and cold weather, I love the beauty of fresh snow. It’s like distilled newness, white and pure.

Sometimes I feel like I need some fresh snow in my life. Not on the trees, but a fresh, clean outlook on life. Frequently it’s helpful to let go of that which holds me back, put the lizard brain behind me, and try anew. That is how this blog started.

So, let some fresh snow happen in your life. Try something new, and don’t be afraid of a little snow.
