While we were out hiking we saw this very large turtle. She was about 50 yards or so from the stillwater river. We were by the same spot about 30 minutes later and she was gone. I should have tried to measure it's size (using the tools in the phone so I didn't have to get close).

Hold the birds for a moment: Such a small pond .. but so many turtles. I saw this log with a couple turtle catching some sun so I shot a quick photo. Then was I looked more, I saw more. So many turtles in one small pond. It has to be an international turtle convention or something. 🤯

It didn't take many sunny days before the turtles showed up to soak up the sun. Gotta love it.
The last few hikes have really felt wonderful. The birds are singing, we have seen a few butterflies, and nature is alive. It is wonderful and refreshing. It truly feels like spring has arrived.

It is that time of year when we start to see turtles sunning on the rocks.
These two photos were taken on two different days over the past weekend. I guess a friend joined in for the second tanning session. But check out that tan! 😬
