Bunting

This is not a great photo but I was happy to see an Indigo Bunting. We have not seen many this year. In fact, I have not been able to capture a really good photo of one in 2025. Maybe there is still time.

A Diverse Pair

I did not expect to get this photo. We were hiking on a 'butterfly walk' with a naturalist from the Miami County Parks District these two showed up. It's a Black Swallowtail and a Monarch butterfly. The monarch is slightly out of focus but this is one of my favorite photos of this season.

Flicker Fly In

We were watching a blue jay when this Northern Flicker flew into our view and landed on this tree. I sure loved it.

‘I Woke Up Like This: Majestic’

On a recent hike along the Miami River I was commenting to Teresa that it has been a while since we had seen a Great Blue Heron in that area. A few minutes later ..
