These are Hooded Merganser. There were setting on a rock when I first saw them. They quickly jumped in the water and moved further away form my location.

I know the lighting was not great for this photo. I tried to edit it to make it better but the contrast is not great. With all the rain lately every low spot is full of water. This frequent pond is aways full in the sring then just a field in the late summer. This mommyWood Duck and her baby ducks took off to hide in the bush.

I have been trying to get a good photo of a Blue-winged Teal for a couple weeks. I think this is a beautiful photo. Their best colors show up in flight but this is beautiful.
