It Was a Long Flight

FullSizeRender.jpg

This is an Eastern Phoebe. They are a small flycatcher. We saw several of them while hiking at Maple Woods, but this is the best photo I was able to capture.

They migrate from the ohio valley, all the way to the Gulf coasts. This bird had a long trip.

Clinging Ice

Teresa and I took these photos last week. The temperature was at about freezing, and the photos look like it. I love the 2nd photo that Teresa captured. The ice is just cool (that is not intended as a pun).

The temperature today was mild, but the rain and stormed have been intense. I hope everyone is safe.

A Long Drive With a View

FullSizeRender.jpg

This was our view about a year ago. We drove from Salt Lake City to Yosemite. I am not sure what I was thinking, but I thought it was a shorter drive. If you look close, you will see the road winding down into the valley.

We are planning our travel for 2019. We have three or four major trips planned, and maybe some shorter drives. They are mostly about the photos, and beautiful visits with nature.

Have a great week.

The deep freeze or the fast thaw

IMG_0401.JPG

You can’t tell it by this photo, but the freeze has let up, and we are in a serious thaw. We don’t see a freeze like this often, but it has a unique beauty.

If you watch the video (below), you will see this same creek after it thawed out. It is flowing again, and life goes on. Have a good week!
