Summer Heat

This sure did not look like a cool spot. The sun was bright and hot and this Goldfinch parked in the heat. The birds usually are more acive in the early morning when it is cooler.

Monarch

We are seeing more Monarch butterfly recently. This one was shy, keeping her wings closed until she flew away. I was hoping to see her colors but it was still great to capture this photo.

My Turf

I guess I called out this Eastern Towhee .. he flew around us, then landed in a small tree near where we were hiking. He sure was checking us out. I guess we were in his turf.

Bring The Colors

I love to photograph the Cedar Waxwing. The colors are so interesting. The yellow accents stand out with the browns and blacks. It is one of the coolest lookng birds.
