This beautiful monarch seems to be keeping its true splendor a secret. While the most breathtaking view is surely with its wings fully opened, this hidden perspective offers a rare, quiet glimpse into its world.

Although I believe I may have seen one previously, this is the first photograph of a Monarch butterfly I have taken this season. We observed several of them yesterday; they are truly beautiful creatures.
