We have not seen many buterflies but the dragonflies are very active. This is a Eastern Pondhawk. It is a skimmer. I love the details.

Wood Ducks On Wood

We saw these young Wood Ducks while hiking this week. It is kind of funny how every other duck is facing 'the other way' from the ducks on each side of her. We saw wood ducks here in the past, but I didn't see any adults this time.

Lunch Hunt

This is more typical of the Great Blue Heron. This one is on the Miami River between Troy and Piqua, Ohio.

The river levels are lower and we have seen so many Great Blue Heron on recent hikes. We sure enjoy them.

A Young Family Outting

Teresa and I hiked at Grand Lake Saint Marys State Park - at Windy Poing this week. Over the last few years, we have hiked here so many times. It is common for us to see
Bald Eagles near that location.

As we hiked, I mentioned to Teresa that it has been a while since we have seen any eagles at this location. Almost on cue, she spotted two Juvenile Bald Eagles on the rocks not far from where we were located. What a wonderful surprise.
