It had been a while since we saw a Green Heron. We saw two of them hanging out on the Miami River in Piqua.
They are a very cool bird. And besides that, instead of Blue (heron), it's a little green today.

Once again, it was unfortunate that I did not capture a video. I saw this Red-tailed Hawk drop on a prey in the grass. I could not see anthing for a while, then saw her fly up into this tree. I did not see anything in its talons. Amazing to watch.

I have been watching and photographing these Wood Duck for seveal weeks. They have been holding out at the Overlook Pond at Stillwater Prairie Reserve. They don't seem to like me taking photos of them so I continued to try. They are gone now.
I don't think I have ever seen a duck move as quickly across the surface of a pond as fast as the one in this top photo. I guess I totally freaked her out.
I didn't see any adult males when taking photos of these wood ducks. Only the female and her young.
