Winter Blues

It can be frustrating to locate and photograph birds this time of year. The butterflies have disappeared and no dragonflies .. this can be depressing. I choose to keep looking and photograph any wildlife I can find. That mean we often hike for miles and see nothing.

On this day we see saw this lonely Red-bellied Woodpecker in a dead tree. It is all worth the time and consistency of getting in nature.

Life is like that ... keep moving forward and enjoy the journey.

Treetop Snack Bar?

There was a lot about this photo that I don't like ... it was cloudy and the lighting was really bad. The angle is really bad. The shadows are bad. All that said, I love this photo. I even caught him snacking.
