Killdeer Crossing

Adjustments.jpeg

I have tried to photograph a Killdeer this entire summer, but while have seen a few, I have struggled to capture a photo. I finally saw this family of killdeer walking across the road. There was three babies, but only 2 made it into the photo. My bad.

Yes, I stopped the car and photographed the crossing. The second photo is a youngster making its way across the road. The photos are not great, but it was fun .. and maybe I saved them from oncoming traffic.

Migration!

Adjustments.jpeg

I was thinking about how fast the year is going by as I watched this goldfinch ... he could care less. He migrates when it is time, moving to a warmer place for our winter. In the mean time, he enjoys the beauty of a warm (hot) day. We need to migrate when the cold arrives.

Lunch?

Adjustments.jpeg

This woodpecker seemed to have found his spot. He would stick his head into that pocket in the tree, perhaps there is water in there and he was getting a drink, or eat a few bugs. After a short time, he would pull back out, look around, and then repeat the process.

The little Titmouse

This is a Tufted Titmouse. They are a small songbird and they are found around here, but this is the 1st time I remember photographing one. At fist, I thought I had taken a photo of another nuthatch, but after a closer look, I realized it was something different. The photos are not perfect, but she is still very cute.

The Odd Couple

FullSizeRender.jpg

This is a rare sight. I capture this squirrel and blue jay foraging around for something to eat. It was a cold day a few weeks ago. I had forgotten I had this photo, but how cool.
