Hidden But Not Silent

I could hear this Song Sparrow before I was able to see her. She was well hidden with a beaufiful song.

On The Move

I have noticed something interesting. Teresa is much better at spotting birds when they are not moving in the trees. I seem to see them best when they move. This Red-bellied Woodpecker is a great example. He was moving around on this branch .. and the motion captured my attention.

Bright Orange

It happens every time .. we see the bright orange first, and hear the song of the Baltimore Oriole ... they are beautiful.

Smile

We are still seeing a lot of cardinals. This one flew accross the trail just a few feet in front of us, then stopped long enough for this photo. If you look close, I think he smiled for the camera. 😬

Gotcha

I have been trying to capture a photo of this Red-headed Woodpecker for about three weeks. We saw him again. This has been a weekly thing, but I was not able to get a good photo. I mean, one day it was this crazy, dense tree-cover, then another day heavy fog .. it has been nuts. Today, I captured this photo. Not too bad.
