Surprise Osprey

While hiking at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve, an Osprey flew directly toward us. I was really surprised to see it! There is a pond nearby, but I didn't think it would be enough to draw her in. She continued flying south. She sure was beautiful.

Hawk Watching

You don't see this every day. As we pulled into Garby Big Woods, I immediately spotted a Red-shouldered Hawk perched gracefully on one of the birdhouses. She was just relaxing there, taking in the surroundings. After I snapped a couple of photos, she glided over to another birdhouse near the treeline. She paused there for a moment, allowing me to capture a few more shots before she finally flew off. What an incredible experience!

Incoming Bald Eagle

This was interesting. We were at Big Woods Reserve and noticed several turkey buzzards in a tree to the West of the fishing pond. It was cool.

Out of no where and suddenly we saw a Bald Eagle flying over the pond. The buzzards took off flying toward the Eagle. Then the eagle took the spot in the tree and just watched. I have no idea what was going on here.

Our National Symbol

It has been a while since we have photographed a Bald Eagle. This one is one of a pair that has a nest just south of Piqua. Beautiful.
