We spotted this hawk perched dramatically at the top of a dead tree, practically posing. Naturally, the second I pulled up my camera, she decided she was too famous for a close-up and took off. Luckily for us, she just dramatically relocated to the other side of the pond. Within a couple of minutes, a second hawk flew in and landed right beside her, clearly ready for their synchronized routine. This may not be a National Geographic award-winner, but it was definitely a cool experience.
