This pari of Bald Eagles nest very close to oiur home. We have been watching them for years and it is near time for them to produce the next baby eagles.

We are approaching the time of year when the Bald Eagles lay eggs. Its weeks away for sure. We are seeing pairs of eagles in trees in the area now.

We do not see Bald Eagles at Big Woods often but this one was feasting on a dead racoon. . She noticed us and took off into the wind, soaring right above us. She landed right above me. I imagine she wasn’t too thrilled that we interrupted her lunch.

We saw these two Bald Eagles not far from the Great Miami River. Their nest is not far from where we took this photo. I wanted a clear shot but this was the best I could do. The fact that they didn't move and I was able to get this on a cloudy day made me very happy.

We have seen so many young rabbits lately. Now the birds of prey seem to have noticed. One day this week we saw a red tailed hawk, one or two cooper hawks and this Bald Eagle .. all at Garbry Big Woods Reserve withing about 3 minutes of time. It was intense.
