Blue Jay

We don't usually see a Blue Jay on the ground like this but there was some bird food from the feeder on the ground and he was on it.

Phoebe

We were hiking near the Great Miami River when we saw this Eastern Phoebe. I am sure they have been around for a few weeks but this is the first one I have been able to photograph this year.

I really prefer to capture birds when they are in trees, grass, flowers .. you get the idea. I like a more natural setting. This railling on the bike trailworked, its just not favorite type of photo.

Playing Bird Tag

This female Northern Cardinal was playing tag with her boyfriend. I was not able to capture a photo of him. Gotta love it.

Stunning Viceroy

We have seen a couple Viceroy Butterflies over the past week, but this is the first one we have been able to photograph this year. How beautiful.

What about a Monarch? That will be a while yet.

Majestic Heron Caught Hunting!

I was just a little too fast with this photo. Just after I took this photo this Great Blue Heron attacked a fish .. then leaned back and swallowed it. I missed the money shot.
