Wood Duck Meeting

Maybe there was a convention of the local Wood Ducks .. I almost missed them. In fact, you may have to really study this photo. The lighting was not great, but there was so many of them.

Oh How They Float

Have you every watched a Monarch Butterfly as they fly across the horizon? They are never in a hurry as they 'float' along. Clearly they need to be busy since the season is short, but they keep their presepctive.

In contrast, if you watch a Viceroy Butterfly, they seem to fly much faster with what looks like more intent.

It is interesting to compare the two. Just an observation .. maybe it means more, but it is certainly interesting to watch them both and contrast their flying styles. (The one in the photo is a Monarch).
