Laying Low

The front lot at Farrington Reserve was flooded this week. I guess it was a combinaion of melting snow and heavy rain, but there was a lot of water. We stopped because we saw this Mallard 'couple' swimming in the new 'pond' created by all of water. They quickly swim to this little area off to the side ... I guess they were lying low trying to avoid any attention. They were really well concealed.

Good Mourning 🤔

The last few times I have photographed a Mourning Dove the photo did not come out at all. This one is much better.

Much Brighter!

This Red-winged Blackbird had much better color than the one I photographed last week. We are seeing more of them by the day. I thought I saw a female but after I looked at the photo, I realized I was wrong. So I am still looking to see a female Red-winged Blackbird. Maybe next week.

Grounded

I do not see many Red-bellied Woodpecker on the ground. They do most of their work in the trees.
