Titmouse

It has been a while since I saw a Tufted Titmouse. There was a few of them but I only managed to photograph this one. They are such a small bird. They are about the same size as the Chickadee. which will be tomorrows photo).

The Stately Sycamore

I think I have written this before, but I love the Sycamore Tree. I shot this photo yesterday on our way home from picking up some Bison. Yes, there is a bison ranch near our home .. but back to my favorite tree.

I love this view of the river and the sycamore trees on both sides of the river. They are stately, and often very large. These line the Stillwater River near Pleasant Hill, Ohio. This would make a good postcard.

Small, Plain But Beautiful

I don't know what it is, but I love sparrows. Then when I get to photograph one, or even more than one, I get all excited. They are plain, but so cool.

When I was young, I didn't see these beautiful creatures the same way. Perhaps I was not always kind to them.

This is a American Tree Sparrow. They don't fly away as fast as some birds. I just love when I see them.

That Big Beak

My what a big beak you have Mr Woodpecker. Maybe it just looks biger because this Red-bellied Woodpecker looks so lean (thin).

Hover King

A day after I photographed that American Kestrel we saw this one. I think it was the same bird, just a mile from where we saw him a day earlier.

In the top photos he was hovering as he scouted for prey. After a period of time, he would move to another location and then hover again. This went on and on for what seemed like an eternity. It was cool to watch and even mroe fun to shot these photos.
