Too Cold For A Swim?

Adjustments.jpeg

We saw these three mallards landing on the Miami River as we were hiking on the bike trail. If you ask me, it is far too cold for a swim, but it didn’t seem to matter to them. They were not very close, but I captured this photo.

Double Take Nuthatch

Adjustments.jpeg

Teresa captured this photo while we were hiking last week. The second White-breasted Nuthatch is a little out of focus .. I guess there is too much depth.

In the Nuthatch family, this is one of the larger birds. The fact is, its still a very small bird, and always hunting for bugs to eat.

Sun Rays & Long Shadows

Adjustments.jpeg

I have shot this same view many times, but this is a cool photo in part to do with the sun rays, but also the low water level and how the shadows stretch across the water. It was a cold afternoon, and it was getting late in the day.

The morning sun was amazing yesterday. We had to take a drive for a breakfast get together and we stopped to photograph the view.It was cold, but so beautiful.

You Sapsucker

Adjustments.jpeg

I am about 99% confident that this is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. Yes, it is a member of the woodpecker family. I have never photographed one around here before. In fact, I have never photographed one anywhere.

In the second photo, you can make out the yellow-washed underparts. It’s not a great shot, and you have to zoom in to see it. Trust me, it is yellow. That is the key to Identifying her.
