Woodpeckers And Finch Duo

I bet you didn't see the American Goldfinch. Do you she him? The Red-bellied Woodpecker is much larger and his colors stand out. We put out some bird food and these two came for pictures.

Colors .. or Evil Squirrel?

I love this photo. Teresa took this photo of this Red-bellied Woodpecker at Garbry Big Woods Reserve. You may not see much of the bird, but it's the whole photo that makes this a great photo.

I have to share another story from earlier this week. Early one morning this week while driving to the gym I notidced a odd grinding noise. I had not heard it the day earlier and had no idea what it was. I thought it was coming from the back of the car. When I got to the gym I tried to see if there was something dragging under the car but it was too dark to see anything. After my workout I drove home but when I tried again to look under the car it was just too dark to see anything. After sunrise we drove to Big Woods Reserve to feed / photograph the birds. Well, it was still making the same noise. Now that it was light enough I looked under the hood and under the car (in the parking lot now). I could not see anything. Teresa was sure it was coming from the front of the car .. I was less sure. I turned the wheels to the left so we could look again .. I could not see anything. Then Teresa saw this:

Can you see the walnut? It was crazy .. I am sure this is the work of an evil squirrel.

Never Gets Old

We have seen a variety of woodpeckers recently but it seems like we only photographs Downy Woodpeckers. I am not complaining, but I keep trying top capture photos of their cousins. It never gets old.

Quiet Reflection

This Northern Cardinal was hiding in the shadows but I still captured a good photo. Call it luck ... ❤️.

Time For Dinner

We have been enjoying watching these two Blue Jays recently. They are at Big Woods and seem to know when we stop to feed the birds. Maybe not, but they sure seem to have it figured out.
