We were hiking along the bike bath near the Miami River when this Northern Flicker landed in a tree just a few feet away. He was sure enjoying this tree.

We have seen many Killdeer over the past month, but this is the first time I have been able to get a decent photograph. We were stopping by Garbry Big Woods Sanctuary to drop off some bird seed. As we turned into the parking lot, there was two Killdeer walking around .. so I shot this photo.
