It was a real treat to spot this Northern Flicker. He seemed perfectly content just relaxing at the top of the tree, perched in that exact same spot for what felt like an eternity.

Capturing this northern flicker was quite a challenge, especially with the distance here. This flicker is molting too. It was a difficult shot to get, but well worth the effort.
