This was special. We had driven to Grand Lake St. Marys just to see this nest. We knew there should be eggs and maybe even little eagles in the nest, but we happened to arrive as Mom and Dad eagle were both there. One eagle was leaving and the other on the job. The clouds made this a little dark. I tried to fix it but this is about as good as it gets. What a special experience.

We heard this caredinal but as soon as I saw him, he dropped into the thick shrubs. I figured I just missed the opprotunity so we moved on. We retured to the same spot a few minutes later and he was singing again. It was so beautiful. I captured this photo in the middle of his beautiful tune.

We are seeing more bird activity now. The cold snap slowed them down, but it is about time for many more migrating birds to show up. I thought I saw a goldfinch this week but I was not able to get a good look.
