I find Field Sparrows to be so cute. They sing beautiful music too. This little sparrow would not fly away. Instead, she whould fly 10 feet or so, then watch us, and repeat that process. What a fun hike.

It has been a while since either of us has photographed a Red-headed Woodpecker. We were hiking near the west Marinas at Grand Lake St. Marys when we spotted this red head (for you John). Such a beautiful bird.

I photographed these two American Goldfinch on two different days, in two different locations. I share them both to make a point about sunlight. A very small difference in lighting and saddows makes a big difference in the photo. I did some edits, but they are still very different. There was more sun in the 1st photo.

I saw this Eastern Kingbird in the top of this tree while we were still a long shot away. I figured there was no way she would stay put while we hiked that way, but she did not move. Thank you!
I love the white tip on the tail feathers. Beautiful bird.

It had been a while since we saw a Green Heron. We saw two of them hanging out on the Miami River in Piqua.
They are a very cool bird. And besides that, instead of Blue (heron), it's a little green today.
