High Ground

I love taking a photo of Field Sparrows. Their curiosity makes them a friend of my camera. They always take a high spot in the small trees where they can see what is going on. This one was in the trees and a photo was nearly impossibe. He flew to the a higher branch where he could check us out. Of course, that allowed me to take a few photos. I love it.

Connecting Sounds

It does not matter how long I have been photographing birds, there's always something new to learn. I thought I know the song of the Field Sparrow but there was this song I have heard for a while and was not sure what it was. This past weekend, I connect that song to the field sparrow. I don't know how I missed this, but here is the call of the field sparrow: Field Sparrow Song.

Seeing Double

I love this photo. This is a pair of Field Sparrows just chilling. This is not typical of my photos of field sparrows. Usually I only see one at a time. Cute.
