This line of trees was loaded with Red-winged Blackbirds. The two in the top photo are females. They don’t have the color of the males, but they are distinct. The second photo is a tree full of them.

Yes, it must be Sparrow season. This is a Song Sparrow. I could set outdoors and listen to her sign for hours. It is so beautiful.

A Focused Blue Jay

I saw this blue jay while we hiked this week. I’m not sure what he was looking at, but he continued to check it out for several minutes. We were not that far away. Blue Jays are normally loud. His attention and focused was intense and accompanied with total silence.

These photos were taken on two differnet days this past week. This Red-bellied Woodpecker seems to like this feeder. I figure he was in training for the circus, maybe as a trapeze.

What A Gorgeous Creature

While hiking this week we saw several cardinals. This is the best of the photos we managed to capture. I love the blue backdrop and then this beautiful cardinal. He is just stunning.
