Getting Comfortable

This American Goldfinch seemed to be getting very comfortable. I love the deep black and contrasting yellows.

Last update: Yesterday my son and daughter-in-law welcomed Violet Joanne to the family. She is beautiful.

Wood Nymph

This is a Common Wood Nymph Butterfly. We usually see them earlier in the spring. This one landed on the hiking path. I love the rich brown color.

I really wanted to capture a photo with his wings openned but no such luck. Next time!

The People’s Bird

We hike almost every day. When are are not hiking the weather is not good or we have some committment that keeps us away from nature. We have been doing this for almost 6 years.

I think we see a robin on almost every hike. It's kind of amazing .. they are not only out, they seem to want to be seen. The peoples bird.
