I do not wear my glasses when we hike. In fact, the eye doc told me my vision was improving and I find taht I don't wear them other than to drive. When we were hiking I saw this bird on the hiking trail. I sure thought it was a Robin. So I guess my eye improvements are not soo good.
As it turns out, the bird was a beautiful Northern Flicker. The angle was not great, but very cool.

This is a Wood Thrush. It looks a lot like the Brown Thrasher I shared a few days ago. This bird has the most amazing song. Here is a vidoe of one doing it's thing.

We have been watching for a Pearl Crescent butterfly. We both have through we saw one, but we have not been able to confirm it, never mind capture a photograph. This one was just beautiful.
