My Buddy

This happens every spring ... It starts when I hear the call of an Eastern Towhee. Then I start looking to find one. This week I could not find the first one, but I did find the next three, and I photographned these two. I just love this amazing bird. I think it is their personality that gets my respect. Very cool bird!

A Comma

This has been a great week. With the weather warming up, we not only photographed many beautiful birds, but also a few butterflies. The most common right now is the Eastern Comma. The comma is always early to show up in the spring here.

Sapsucker

What a surpise! This is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker. I didn't notice when I took the photo but when I got home I was really surprised to see the yellow. How cool.

Migration Update

The migration is really just starting but this was a surprise. I am about 95% sure this is a American Goldfinch. When I took it I was sure it was, but after I look at the photo I have to say it could be a Warbler. I was shooting almost stright up into the tree and the bird was after his lunch. Regardless, it was cool.
