I first saw this Cardinal in a tree near the Miami River. He flew away but I saw where he went. I fugured I may be able to see him from a diffrent angle further up the trail. Sure enough, I spotted him in. this tree hanging over the river. Sadly he waa facing away from me. At first I thought I could wait him out and maybe he would look my way. He did not move .. I waited .. he still did not move. I thoguht to myself, "Maybe I can move a little to the south and get a shot from a diffferent. angle. Well, he was on to me. He flew away and that was that. Beautiful cardinal, but too smart. 🤣

Last night I captured a few photos of the eclipse. They are a little dark, but very cool to see.

This is a very young American Goldfinch. The colors are there, but he's likely going to migrate any time.
