The Other Tanager

Since starting this photo blog, I have posated a few photos of the Scarlet Tanager. Every one of those is of the male. They are this beautiful scsarlet red with black wings. I finally captured a photo of a female. They are YELLOW. How about that. Beautiful bird!

This is a Eastern Phoebe. He was setting in a tree that extended over the Miami River. I love how the green blurs into the background with his amazing color.

Fishing

It has been a while since we photographed a Great Blue Heron. We have seen a few but missed the photo. I was hiking alone on this day. I saw one in a pond and the other in the Great Miami River ... about ½ mile apart.
