Peace On The River

We are still not seeing a lot of colors, at least not like last year. I have a few photos to share in the coming days but nothing too impressive. In general we are getting in a lot of hiking, but not a lot of photography.

This is the Stillwater River. Enjoy the peaceful days and the cooler temperatures - but as it gets cold, stay warm.🥶

Duck Date

I guess I should recognize they are on a date and let them enjoy the evening. Male Mallards are one of my favorite to photograph becuase of their colors.

Falling Water ..

A photo can be deceptive. This looks a large water fall but it is not that large.

I took this photo just south of Piqua on the bike trail. The fall is a run-off. It is cool but just not as large as the photo makes it seem.

One Large Woodpecker

I have been watching for a Pileated Woodpecker for months. A few weeks back I saw one, but I was not successful getting a photo. This week I saw one land in a tree on the other size of the Stillwater River from where I was standing. He was in the top of a tree ... but so far away. I took a few photos, trying to get at least one good photo. These two shots were the best I was able to capture. This is one cool woodpecker. It is also a very large woodpecker!
