We saw several Mallards in the Miami River this week. It has been a while since we have photographed any ducks.

We went on a butterfly walk yesterday with a group. It was lead by a real expert on nature from Miami County Park District. Near the end of the hike I totally missed this Green Heron but it was spotted by soneone in the group. Luck for me, he stayed in the same place long enough for me to get a decent photo. This is the 1st one we have seen this year.

We don't usually see a Mallard all alone. Usually there is a pair. This one may not be healthy .. can't tell much from the photo.
