Deer In The Headlights?

Maybe not in the headlights, but clearly in our lens. Is this cute or what? This cutie was totally surprised by us walking toward her. I am sure Mom was nearby, but once she got over the shock, she turned around and ran off. So beautiful.

We always enjoy hiking at the Hobart Urban Nature Preserve. Its not a long hike, but I almost always see a deer. I have seen big bucks too. We saw this clan later in the hike too.

Count Them … Three!

The rain this week slowed down the pace of our hiking this week, but it did not slow down nature. We saw these three bucks cross the road near Big Woods Sanctuary. Two of them were out front, then the 3rd crossed the road. They all stopped to check us out. Fun times.

We were not the only hikers on this particular day. I guess she was enjoying the weather and a nice hike too.

She watched us for a long time, and then turned and ran away. Beautiful.
