This is a Wood Duck ... more specifically it is an eclipse male. The need for the fancy colors are done and he has molted. Check out those eyes.

Interesting to see that there are only three young ducks here. I didn't see any more. I guess it is just a small Blue-winged Teal family. I hope it was not something else.

Nature is interesting. This Great Blue Heron is in a tree overlooking a pond. The second photo shows what we were looking at. Teresa spotted him .. I totally missed him. Look closely at the second photo and see if you can spot him.
