Year Around Ohio Bird

I took these photos before the recent snowfall. The \[American Robin\](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_robin) is really interesting. We have them here in Ohio year around. The show up everywhere .. in the cities and towns, as well as out were we hike. I am often surprised they are not our state bird. \~ Rick

Small Woody

This is a Downy Woodpecker. It is a male. The female does not have the red crown on the head. The downy is a very samll woodpecker. In fact, I read that is is the smallers woodpecker in North America.

Different Bird, Different Tree, Same Look

Yes, this is two different Red-bellied Woodpeckers in two different trees.

I really like the first photo becuase you can see the red belly more than in most photos I take of Red-bellied Woodpeckers. The second photo is not as good due to a slight focus issue.

Show Time

The team at our local Miami County Parks District have started filling the feeders at the local reserves. It is always a fun place to go and watch the birds. We will pull up in the car and just set there and enjoy the show.
