Wow!

I love the Red Admiral Butterfly. The colors were stunning. While it is a good photo, it just does not captured the intensity of the colors are. It has been months since I last saw one of these. All I could do was capture this photo and utter the simple word, "Wow".

Eastern Bluebird .. Finally

We have not seen a Eastern Bluebird since early spring. Actually, we saw a few last week, but neither of us capture 'good' photo. I shot one photo, but it was really bad so I hit delete.

I love this photo .. but I guess I love all bird photos.

One Of A Flock

We were recently greated by a flock (I guess its called a flock) of Common Grackles passing thorugh the wooded area where we were hiking. This one stoppedd in the shadows for this amazing photo opportunity. Check out those eyes. I really love this photo.

Where Is That Cat?

Since the last time I posted a photo of a Gray Catbird, I have seen a few more of them.

I love it when we am walking on a trail or through the woods and hear a cat, only to realize its actaully a gray catbird. Its kind of funny.

This is the best photo we have been able to capture of a gray catbird this year. I'll keep trying to do better. Getting a perfect photo drives us to keep taking pictures. Nature is funny sometimes. Some days we hear and even see dozens of birds but only get a couple photos, then other days we will capture so many beautiful pictures. You never know.

On two seperate occasions this week Teresa saw the bright color of a Baltimore Oriole hidden in the trees but so obsucre that we almost missed them. They are both males, and in both photos a significant portion of the bird is hidden from view. I still love the photos.
