A Warm Beach

FullSizeRender.jpg

I have been to many intesting places in the world, but I loved this view of the Mediterranean. This was one of many warm days on the beach in Tel Aviv, Israel.

I stayed in a hotel right on this beach many nights over a four year period, and on most of those days, this was the view. I was there for some very stormy nights. but that was the exception.

I have never tried to rate locations. Every corner of this amazing earth has some unique quality that makes it special. Israel is no exception. I loved it there. The people were bright, friendly and amazing. The culture is special. It is one of those places I love to visit, and hope I can go back again sometime before my time is up on this amazing earth.

Teresa and I went on a hike yesterday and I was able to fly the drone. I did that in some snow, but it was a lot of fun. The video can be viewed below or on YouTube.

I hope you enjoy the video!

A storm brewing

It was the last day on the island and it was clear there was a storm brewing. I was standing on the beach, looking toward Honolulu. The view was ominous, with a touch of beauty that I will never forget. A towering skyline, with the glow of setting sun to the west, provided the lighting and colors for the view. The heavy, dark and menace clouds overhead gave way to a cool breeze across the ocean. Through all of this, the beach was still full of people. The sights, sounds, and smells .. it was intense. I am grateful for the opportunity to capture this photo.

By the way, we never did get a storm .. just a passing shower. Nature ...

We can do better

San Juan, Puerto Rico. February 2016

San Juan, Puerto Rico. February 2016

Puerto Rico has always been a beautiful place. Hurricane Maria devastated the island, and left so much  distruction. I don’t want to get into the politics, but the recovery efforts have been so slow, and millions have suffered. There is always two sides to every story, but I’ll share this link to get a few of the problems. We can do better!

Stay warm, and picture a beach, somewhere very warm!

The beach after sunset

Waikiki beach after sunset, October 2015

Waikiki beach after sunset, October 2015

I don’t keep a journal, but if I did, this is how it would read for Oct 1, 2015:

After a long day, Teresa and I took a walk on the beach. In the distance, you could hear the throngs of people, but here, just the waves lapping the shores. The silence was beautiful and in some ways overpowering. The view .. that was the explanation point on a day in paradise.
