The Other Mr. Ugly

Sadly this photo did not turn out great. We tried, but the focus was off. This is a Black Vulture. They don't normally come this far north, but once in a while, we will see them in the area. This one seemed to think it was time to be spooky. He's as ugly as the Turkey Vultures we normlly see.

Natures Gift

I really can't say much about the beauty of this male Cardinal. This one felt like a gift. So very beautiful. Thank you.

More On The Hackberry

I really love the Hackberry Emperor. They are not as colorfull as some butterfly, but they are just fun. They are rarely seen on flowers which is not a commong trait for butterflies. This one was on the side of this tree.

The Egret

I was ready this time. We were looking for Eagles, but there it was .. a Great Egret. I missed the shot last time but I was ready ...

A little note about the Egret:

... generally long-legged wading birds, that have white or buff plumage, developing fine plumes (usually milky white) during the breeding season. Egrets are not a biologically distinct group from herons and have the same build. (wikipedia)
