Sing It

Sparrows are not the most colorful birds, but there is someting about them that draws me to them. This one is a Field Sparrow. They are my favorite. I think it's their curiosity and beautiful song. They do have a cool beak, but as you can see, there is not a lot of other color. Sing it my feathered friend.

So Much Better

This is a beautiful photo of an Indigo Bunting. He was in a small bush just off the trail and took off as we approached. I was lucky .. he only flew a short distance and stopped. The lighting was nearly perfect and I shot several photos. Special thanks to the universe for a great photo opportunity.

King of the …

Many years ago, when I was a young we played 'king of the hill'. The objective was to be on top of the 'hill' while everyone else attempted to remove you. It was often rough. The larger turtle in this photo seems to be on the hill and I doubt the little one is going to take over his position. ~ Rick

Bunting

I have been trying to get a clean photo of an Indigo Bunting all spring. We have seen a few, but the photos have not been great. This is the best so far but it is still not the photo I am looking for.

I see he found a seed snack. I am sure that will come out the other end and propogate the plant species for another spring.

Cool Spring Morning

I shot this photo on Fathers Day at about 6:50A. Teresa and I took an early morning hike. The Miami river flows behind where I was standing, and a deer had just crossed the hiking path and disappeared into the treeline on the other side of this pond. It was a cool morning. The temperature was about 50°F.

This is my favorite time of day. The mind clears and life seems less messy when it is just you, nature and someone you love. Enjoy it when you can.
