Downy Woodpecker

We hiked along the Great Miami River from the Farrington Reserve south for a couple miles. This Downy Woodpecker was entertaining. He was jumping around like crazy ... looking for bugs I suppose. So cute.

Beautiful, Warm Winter Day

The weather has been more like fall this week. We hiked at Hobart Urban Nature Preserve this week. We saw a few birds, but the sky and pond made these two photos beautiful. It was a great day to be outdoors. Certainly warm for a winter day!

Nuthatch Gymnastic

We saw this White-breasted Nuthatch while hiking at Farrington Reserve last week. Yes, I still get excited when I see one of these guys climbing around in a nearby tree. So interesting to photograph.

Incoming Gull

When we drive up to the Grand Lake St Marys we can always count on seeing a number of American Herring Gulls. I captured this photo as this one flew over us.

Lean In
