River reflections

FullSizeRender.jpg

There weather has taken a turn this week. Today it didn’t make it to 60°F, and it looks like the next few days it will be cool, if not cold.

I shot this photo with my iPhone. I held it close to the water of the Miami River, and shot toward the east shore. I wanted to capture the reflection of the trees and the clouds. I managed to get the blue sky too. Love this shot.

Sometimes I find that I need to get close to nature and spend time reflecting as well. Life is complicated at times, and clarity seems to come when I am quiet and reflecting.

These fearless mallards

FullSizeRender.jpg

I took this photo of these mallards while we were hiking yesterday. This is one of the better shots I have of Mallards in a while. I was afraid my drone flight, or the noise of us trying to get in position for a good photo may frigten them. Nothing .. they stayed put, shared their beauty, and seemed fearless.

One more photo .. and have a great day!

Wetland hike ..

FullSizeRender.jpg

Teresa and I took a short drive to Beavercreek, Ohio yesterday where we hiked at the Beaver Creak Wetland Nature Reserve. I saw no less than 5 Red-belly Woodpeckers, and capture this photo. They were avoiding my lens, so this is the best shot I was able to get.

The video below has a few other photos and some video from our hike. Enjoy.

On August 7, I posted photos of this species of butterfly. The ‘Question Mark’ and the ‘Comma’ butterfly are so beautiful. Such a cool design, and they really look like a leaf. Outside of the Monarch, this is my favorite. Read more about these beautiful creature here!

Sunrise and shadows ..

FullSizeRender.jpg

This photo was captured while I was on an early morning hike. It was a morning early last week while Teresa was on a walk with a friend. I didn’t feel like going far, so I was hiking along the river. This sunrise was amazing, and the shadows were so cool. This shot was simple, but sometimes the simple photos are the best. Life is like that, my friends. Keep it simple and enjoy the moments!

The video is a little early ... Teresa and I went to this ballon glow Friday night, and again Saturday evening. Since our 8th grandchild was born last night, we may not have time to get a new video for Tuesday, so enjoy this. It’s different than our normal nature video, but it was fun.
