Another Pearl

Check out the details in this photo of a Pearl Crescent. I photographed this last week. We were on an organized 'butterfly walk' .. I guess I forgot to share this one. Enjoy.

Silver-spotted Skippers

We finally saw a few Silver-spotted Skippers. They do look like a moth, but they are a butterfly. Maybe they are not late but it sure seems that way to us. Better late than never.

Swallowtail

We saw this Pipevine Swallowtail, also referred to as a blue swallowtail while hiking this past week. What a beautiful swallowtail. I love the colors and it's size.

The Comma

We saw a few of these early in the spring but it has been weeks since we saw an Eastern Comma. Well, they are back. Tomorrow we will be taking a formal 'butterfly walk' with a naturalist. I hope we see more, and maybe a 'question mark' butterfly.
