Pearls

This happened at about the same time every summer. We start to see fewer birds and an increase in the number of butterflies we photograph. This week it was a large population of Pearl Crescent butterflies. Beautiful small butterfly!

I have seen a few Cloudless Sulphur Butterflies this year, but I finally captured a good photo. She landed on this flower and didn't move for a long time. ❤️

Looking Beat Up

It looks like this female [Eastern Tiger Swallowtail](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papilio_glaucus) has been in a battle. I find swallowtails to be so beautiful. Sometimes I think I see a hummingbird flying in the distance, and then as I get closer, I see it is a large swallowtail. ~ Rick

Red-spotted Purple

I saw this beautiful Red-spotted Purple near the Stillwater River last week. The photos really does not do the colors justice, but I wanted to share them.

A Shy Swallowtail?

I have been chasing swallowtail butterflies around for a few weeks but seems they don't welcome a photo. Maybe they are just shy 😱.

I was finaly successful .. I photographed this female Black Swallowtail a few days ago. Beautiful. Be sure to click the link .. I found this to be a very informative source.
