Monarch Time

I love the Monarch Butterfly. It's not just the colors or size. The way they migrate and every detail about them.

Sadly, there seem seems to be fewer of them this year. Here is a report on the Monarch Population Status. It's interesting so click the link and check it out.

Nature Mixed With ..

I photographed this Tawny Emperor on the bike trail close to the Miami River. I love the colors in this beautiful butterfly. #Gorgeous.

I prefer that my photos don't include man-made elements. It just takes away from what nature shares. Sometimes I don't share photos like this one, but I try to find a balance. Life is to short and nature comes the way it comes.

A Tale Of Two Butterflies

Two photos .. two viceroy butterflies. What captured my attention was the condition of the butterflies. The first one appears to be in great health. The colors are vibrant, and the wings look perfect. The second one looks like it has had better days. The wings are worn and it just looks tried and like life has become a signficant struggle.

I am not sure of the age of either butterfly. I believe that even as we age, we can feel and look younger if we eat right and get enough exercise, even if that is just walking and moving every day. I am going to leave it at that .. take care of your health. No one else is going to do it for you. Eat enough protein, get some movement every day and enjoy life.

I believe this is a Question Mark Butterfly, but then again, it could be a Comma. I love the wings .. so much detail.

Finally .. we have been trying to find and photograph a Monarch Butterfly for weeks. I saw this one near the Miami River. It's not a perfect photo, but success .. finally.
