We have seen so many cardinals over the past two weeks. It does not seem to matter where we hike, we see cardinals. Most of them have been males, they all sing a beautiful tune. #MeltsMyHeart

We saw this Eastern Bluebird this week. Teresa took the second photo which shows the colors better. We don't see these very often, but we always get excited when we do.

I watched this Hairy Woodpecker fly into the top of a nearby tree, and then I spent the next 15 minutes attepting to capture a good photo of him. They sure look a lot like a downy woodpoecker. The downy has a shorter beak. Very cool.

I love seeing a Eastern Towhee. I noticed that on their web site, Cornell Labs describes them as a large sparrow. I guess I can see that but I have never seen a sparrow as protective of their space as the male towhee.
